On Sunday night, the NFL spent six long hours revealing players ranked 100-41 on the player-voted Top 100 list. Since I assume most of you didn’t stick around for the whole display (don’t worry, neither did I), here are the Seattle Seahawks who have qualified so far.
The first Seahawk to come off of the board was Quandre Diggs, who was ranked 77th. I’m glad to see him get the respect he deserves (making his first appearance on this list), and when I saw that he qualified, I reminded myself that the ‘Hawks only gave up a fifth-round pick for him. Highway robbery.
Right after Diggs, Tyler Lockett came off the board at #76, down 11 spots from last year’s list. I’m not really sure how having 100 receptions in a season made him lose his higher position, and I was appalled to see that Baker Mayfield was ranked 5 spots ahead of him. I guess the 5’10” Lockett flies under the radar, even among his fellow players.
The highest-ranked player who played for Seattle in 2020 was K.J. Wright, who came in at #67, making the list for the first time. Frankly, I’m not sure how he hadn’t made the list previously, but the fact that he has made it now proves that he is still a star in this league worthy of a job. I hope he gets one soon, and I sure wish it was in Seattle.
As we await spots 40-1, keep an eye out for DK Metcalf, Russell Wilson (last year’s #2), Jamal Adams, and Bobby Wagner. Sadly, I think we’ve passed the point where Dunlap, Duane Brown, or Chris Carson might be ranked (I think they are each deserving). Hey, we could still see a surprise Michael Dickson ranking, though. Stay tuned.
