Carolina Hurricanes go from possible rival to measuring stick for Kraken

Several key members of the Kraken organization previously worked for Carolina, but a potential rivalry between the teams fizzled when coach Rod Brind’Amour remained with the Hurricanes and Seattle passed on signing free-agent defenseman Dougie Hamilton.
