The Mariners face their hated rivals to the North
Some of my absolute worst memories are at Blue Jays-Mariners games at Safeco Field/T-Mobile Park. Picture this: the Mariners are somehow in contention for the first time in a bazillion years. They go on a fantastic run out of nowhere, putting themselves in great position for a must-win home series against Toronto.
And then…
And then 10,000 Canadian people make their annual pilgrimage to Seattle, get drunk as hell, and scream their hearts out as the Mariners fail to score even one single run against Marco Estrada, driving a dagger into both their playoff chances and the hearts of their fans.
Well, I have great news. It is currently literally illegal for those Canadians to make their annual pilgrimage. So the Mariners will be playing the Blue Jays in, ostensibly, their first functional home game in some years.
Lineups!

This is pretty much the Mariners’ best possible lineup against lefties. Personally, I’d bat Haniger or Toro leadoff and put Crawford much lower in the lineup, but hey. I’m not the midwestern dad in charge of this team.
