A pitching duel for the ages ends in exciting walk-off fashion.
In Mariners news…
- Just three days after Mitch Haniger’s grand slam, another Mitch makes the difference in the game for the Mariners. This time, it’s Garver, with a huge walk-off homer to put Seattle over the Atlanta Braves 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth.

- An exciting pitchers duel between RHP Bryce Miller and Braves’ starter Max Fried carried a no-hitter for both teams through the seventh inning. In the process, Miller recorded 10 strikeouts, and with the help of Garver’s walk-off home run, found himself part of a fascinating statistic:
List of @Mariners games where starting pitcher records 10+ strikeouts in a walk-off home run win:
July 17, 1986 — Mark Langston (11 K), Jim Presley (HR)
Sept. 22, 2017 — Erasmo Ramírez (10 K), Nelson Cruz (HR)
Tonight — Bryce Miller (10 K), Mitch Garver (HR)— Mariners PR (@MarinersPR) April 30, 2024
- In case you were unsure just how dominant this pitching staff has been:
