It’s Sunday, and if it’s Sunday, it’s Mother’s Day!
Lots of injuries in the news today, including myself! I have a hip pointer that is figuratively killing me. Does it hurt to high hell? Yes. Is it going to stop me from golfing this morning. Absolutely not. Happy Mother’s Day!
In Mariners news…
- Carlos Vargas has had more control this season, and his already nasty stuff is really playing well this season.
- I’m happy that he’s happy, but it is nice to know that he misses us.
I may be a New Yorker through and through, but coming back to Seattle also feels like coming home. I’ll be skipping the A’s series to have a few extra days here to spend with family & friends. Grateful. pic.twitter.com/5IIMy6dB4k

- The Mariners are giving the Blue Jays and their fans reasons to celebrate, I am physically ill.
- There’s a new episode of Meet at the Mitt, with a long discussion of what’s up with Luis Castillo.
Around the league…
- Houston Astros outfielder (that’s still weird) Jose Altuve left yesterday’s game with tightness in his hamstring.
- The White Sox might be without their best player for a couple days.
Luis Robert Jr. is day to day with right knee soreness.
Chase Meidroth is dealing with a sore right shoulder after diving on the ground in KC, and got imaging done on it, but is feeling good enough to play.
Will Venable certainly sounded like Tim Elko will get regular, if not everyday playing time

- Bad news for my fantasy team, Oneil Cruz exited yesterday’s lower back tightness.
- It’s a day ending in the letter Y, so that means there’s another injured Red Sox player.
- If you’re the Tampa Bay Rays, the rain taketh, and the rain… also taketh.
BREAKING: Rays first ever home rain delay.
- Astros fans are acting super normal right now. Just ask Lance McCullers Jr.
- In advance of his start against the Yankees last night, former Yankee J.P. Sears recalled Aaron Judge treating him and his family to a very lovely dinner before 2022 Opening Day.
